I am James Wilson AKA The Sleep Geek and I am a man in glasses who knows a lot about sleep.
So, you may ask, why am I qualified to comment on all things sleep? Well, I have a life long interest in sleep. As well as being a qualified Sleep Practitioner I am also someone who has spent more than half his life in the sleep industry. I am the third generation of my family to be involved in sleep products; I have sold products to retailers, set up and ran a retailer myself, which went from working out of my parents garage to supplying people and business all over the world with sleep products and helped those who struggle to sleep learn how to snooze soundly.
I am also a Dad to be; this means there will soon be a little Sleep Geek running around, which will allow me to put all I have learnt through my work with the Children’s Sleep Charity to the Test!
I am currently involved with four exciting sleep projects.
Firstly I am helping Adjustamatic Healthcare launch a range of mattresses and beds to the UK retail market. I developed a range of mattresses to go with their market leading adjustable beds and together they create a sleep environment that gives you the perfect posture while you sleep. You can read more about them here
Secondly I am involved in a product BrainTrain 2020 are developing to measure and refine your sleep environment to ensure your bedroom is just right for you to get a good nights sleep. In addition to this, it will help those who struggle to sleep to drift off with ease. This is an exciting project that has already won a Next Big Thing Award at the Sheffield Business Awards.
Thirdly, I am a Trustee and in house Sleep Environment Expert for the Children’s Sleep Charity. This amazing Charity, run by Vicki Dawson, helps children who struggle to sleep. They run free courses for parents, and also train professionals who work with children, to ensure they are offering the right advice to the kids they are responsible for.
Fourthly I am in the Sleep Expert for the Halifax Hall Hotel in Sheffield. This beautiful hotel, which is in the grounds of Sheffield University came to me to help them create the best sleep environment possible for their guests. Every room has been designed to leave you sleeping peacefully and to see what their guests think of the rooms check out their Trip Advisor Page
I am always looking to get involved in projects to do with sleep. Whether it is business or product development work, helping hotels and care homes provide the best sleep environments for their guests or private practitioner work please get in touch. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
